Red Ribbon Week 2021

Red Ribbon Week 2021
Posted on 10/07/2021
Dear Parents/ Guardians:
The last week of October is recognized across the nation as Red Ribbon Week. The red ribbon was designated as a symbol of intolerance of illegal drug use
and a commitment to a drug-free life style. Buchanan Elementary School will be recognizing Red Ribbon Week Oct. 26-30. We will be participating in the annual food drive from Oct. 25 through November 5.

Below is the week’s dress up schedule:
Monday- Red Day Red Ribbon Week kick off + Food drive
Tuesday- Twin Day ‘Double Up Against Drugs!’ + Food drive
Wednesday- Patriotic Day ‘Help Build a Drug Free America!’ + Food drive
Thursday- Inside Out Day ‘Drugs Turn You Inside Out!’
Friday- Farmer Day ‘Grow a Happy Life, Be Drug Free!’ + Food drive

Please encourage your children to be active participants in this important event. This is your opportunity to speak to your children about the importance of a drug-
free lifestyle. Discuss the negative effects drug use has on their health, their relationships, and their future, not to mention the devastating impact it has on a family. You can lessen the chance of your child’s experimentation with drugs by being involved and actively interested in their life.
We appreciate your support and involvement!

Sincerely,
Angie Hodges
